The neon lights are blazing, the pixelated stars are flying past your screen and Cillë has officially entered the chat! The Danish-born, NYC-based songwriter, singer & self-proclaimed “pop rock powerhouse” dropped the official lyric video for her new single “Neon Trooper” today and it’s just as wildly infectious as the artist behind it.
“I’d say that I’m a pop rock powerhouse—that’s one of my affirmations, anyway! Ha!” Cillë jokes. “I always aim to craft infectious melodies, and I strive to write lyrics that do some mix of entertaining and inspiring. Though it’s not all I do, I love to write fun music the most.” And Neon Trooper fits that bill perfectly.

With a pulsing beat and glam rock flair, the song is more than just a sonic adrenaline shot, it’s a cosmic call to arms. “‘Neon Trooper’ is a manifesto for living a colorful, uncompromising life,” Cillë explains. “It’s about remembering that we’re so much more than human—we are parts of infinite space. It’s an invitation to hop aboard the spaceship of the soul for… At least three minutes. You can put it on repeat, though, to extend the experience.” In other words, it’s a glittery, galactic pep talk set to a fierce pop rock soundtrack, AND it’s her most fun (and loudest) release yet, both literally and figuratively.
To match the track’s wild energy and retro-futuristic vibe, Cillë opted for a lyric video, a format that has only grown more popular with artists and fans alike. “I think it’s a tiny opportunity to invite others inside my head. To let them into my ping pong brain, just a little,” she says. “I had the vision—of an old school arcade gaming feel… Wanted to see it through.” The result is a vintage video game aesthetic, set in outer space. Pixelated stars and neon 8-bit typography across the screen, where the words fall into the space void! “I adore the video’s retro gaming feel—it’s exactly what I was going for.”

For independent artists like Cillë, a high-quality lyric video is more than just a visual aid, it’s a statement. While DIY options & quick Fiverr gigs abound, videos like Neon Trooper prove that when more thought goes into the visuals, the story and the branding, the result is far more impactful. Professional lyric videos don’t just display words; they create a world. For someone like Cillë, who clearly has an entire technicolor universe living in her mind, the format is the perfect match.
Her new EP, titled ‘… but you can call me silly’ promises to take listeners even deeper into her sonic star system. “It’s a roaringly loud glam rock celebration of an artist’s life,” she says of the project. “I’ve got some songwriting camps lined up—so a lot more collaboration and a lot more songwriting. I’m working to do more toplining and way more co-writing. So many songs!”

If Neon Trooper is the boarding pass, this EP is the journey. And luckily, Cillë makes for one hell of a captain!
You can keep up with Cillë at cillemusic.com, where she encourages fans to go beyond the social follow and actually reach out: “You can drop me an email, and we’ll connect. Like, for real, beyond the ‘follow,’ way outside the social media algorithm. Also, what you can do, is go be creative and make stuff yourself and send it to me. That’s even more important!”
So yeah—buckle up, Neon Troopers. Your mission begins now.
