Los Angeles artist LUV (formerly known as BEEZEE) has an impressive resume that includes but not limited to, singer, rapper, songwriter and producer. A talented new pop queen who started her career by studying at Crē8 Music Academy at Westlake Recording Studios. A fan of genre bending music, LUV takes inspiration from her favorite artists growing up including Missy Elliot, Avril Lavigne, Tupac, Biggie, Madonna etc. She attributes her sonic style to dance music and it’s creativity, plus family and friends who constantly share music with her. “I started in music while working on television and film productions working at BET and Jesse Collins Entertainment. One of my first projects was under my previous artist name BEEZEE. One day I was free-styling in my car in Los Angeles and the next moment my friend Phoenix asked me to freestyle a birthday rap at her birthday in Hollywood. This is where I met producer/artist Bslade where we recorded my first single #HONEY in 2013. Ever since my first recording experience I was hooked.”

LUV has released a variety of dynamic singles in 2022 including “Goosebumps”, “Dancing in the Sunshine”, “Kindness” and “Permit” (all of which she teamed up with LyricVids for some fun music video releases!) “I love writing emotions and stories through the lens of music, while working on a vast number of productions and projects. I have written over 30+ singles, and this year I am releasing a total of 22 singles. I am very thankful to my collaborators internationally and domestically. I am very grateful to AnonXmous, and so many others who support my musical journey, including LyricVids.”

On July 7th, LUV released her newest single “Book of Spells” via independent music label Higher Luv Records. She says, “Book of Spells is about capturing what it means to celebrate Halloween from bobbing for apples, trick or treating, and dancing. My inspiration for the song was when I was watching my favorite Halloween film Hocus Pocus. I found out from my friend Elan Carson that it was released in the summer so I decided to release my Halloween summer single. I will be dancing all the way to Halloween. And can’t wait to see the latest sequel Hocus Pocus 2 this summer.”

When asked how this spooky track differs from her previous releases she said, “This one is very different. Previously as BEEZEE I released a Halloween single called Frankenstein inspired by Big Shiz who told me I reminded him of Frankenstein. This time it’s all about dancing and bringing out your inner spellbound dancer. I really wanted to capture what Halloween means to me sonically. Also, this is the first Halloween single as LUV where I have been challenging myself to branch out and sing more all while producing, writing, mixing, and mastering. My goal is to inspire others to chase your dreams and keep learning. You never know what stepping outside of your comfort zone can do. Music is healing and with this release it is just capturing the spooky fun that Halloween brings, casting those Book of Spells to get you to dance. I am proud of my growth from Frankenstein to the Book of Spells. You can see and hear the evolution from Frankenstein to Book of Spells: https://youtu.be/t4SKXzDo-WQ”

Along with the single release, LUV teamed up with the LyricVids team for an exciting new music video to really bring those haunting themes to life. When asked why she chose a lyric video she says, “I chose a lyric video, because Halloween is all about imagination and creativity. From watching the lyric video it captures the essence where others can write their own spells with “Book of Spells”. It leaves the book open for others to add their spells and fun into the song. Grab your broom or vacuum, and let’s dance.” The video takes fans on an eerie journey through a haunted house, equipped with creepy visuals of fog, dripping blood, running rats, cobwebs, swaying chandeliers and magic mirrors. The lyrics are spookishly showcased using an old fashioned gothic styled font in a blood red color, the type that you’d most certainly find in an old spell book. What really stands out for me in this lyric video are the textured background layers. When you think of a haunted house, you imagine the dingy damask wallpaper, crumbling bricks and creaking floorboards under old carpet. The animators were able to capture those key components adding a real depth to the lyric video itself. Fellow phobophiles can rejoice and relish in all of its wonderful horror.

We asked LUV what her favorite part of the music video was and she said, “This is actually my favorite lyric video to date because it captures the essence of Halloween. One of my favorite movies as I said is Hocus Pocus, but if I was going on a ride at Disneyland it would be The Haunted Mansion. And if we are talking about Halloween music who can’t talk about “Thriller” or “Monster Mash”. I feel this lyric video captures that visually and socially. I feel for myself as an artist and just a kid at heart. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love dressing in costumes, dancing, and eating candy. Who doesn’t?”

LUV is an inspirational artist for young women who have dreams of entering the music industry. Some words of wisdom from the pop singer: “My hope is to inspire more female artists to take their craft into their hands by learning more on the production side because it adds even in collaborations. I love working with some very talented producers, but since taking a more hands on approach in collaborations I can add more with my added knowledge, plus talk nerdy which I love plugins.” Her energy is infectious and along with the positive messages she relays in her music, she never forgets to recognize those that have helped her along the way. “I am so thankful to my mentors, family, friends, musician friends, and places I’ve studied music. I am thankful to Westlake Recording Studios Crē8 Music Academy, The Songwriting School of Los Angeles, Sam’s Recording Academy, and Catch the Moons program plus the wonderful vocal coaches I have worked with Bob Garrett, Cait Cuneo, Katie Riggs, and Brad Chapman.”

What’s next for LUV? She says, “I have ten singles coming up after Book of Spells. Some I am really excited about are “Ghosting My Past”, “Evolve”, and “Drink It Up” to name a few. I am constantly challenging myself to grow and explore all sorts of genres. Plus challenging myself to keep working on my craft in producing and mixing.” You can follow her across all social media and music streaming platforms at @easytoluvofficial or you can access her website at www.higherluvrecords.com
